1200 miles

Is it possible to meet someone online and be so intrigued by them , that they leave you wanting more?  That they live across the country, and are willing to buy a ticket to go meet them.  That you cant find anyone like this person in the state you live in? I dunno, may be possible, and I am sure hoping that it is!! :)
